After a long absence, José Fortes returns home to Cape Verde to find his community transformed. The fish that have provided income and food for generations are disappearing from the sea, and people are being forced to sell the sand from their beaches just to survive. The reasons for this are all around the archipelago: European vessels returning home with fish from Cape Verdean waters.

After two widely supported crowdfunding campaigns to publicize the consequences that overfishing is having on communities we started to raise donations with the aim of crowdsourcing a documentary that could report this story to the world.
More than three years work later and we're nearly there, thanks to the generousity of peoples donations we've almost raised enough to cover the essential expenses required.
Now, by preordering the film you can help contribute to the last stages of it's post-production and be part of the crowd that helped turn this project into a reality.
