His films are inspired by the many experiences given by a life of traveling throughout the world. He has studied, filmed and worked in South America, North America, Europe, Asia, Australia and more recently in Africa. He believes documentary can appeal to a broader audience and can promote real social change thanks to its accessibility and its creative potential. Gabriel's films have been screen around the world, at numerous international film festivals and arts organisations. |

As a director, producer, cameraman and editor for Matchbox Media, he is inspired by the exploration of cultural diversity and the challenge of representing this through film. He has frontline experience working in pre- and post-production for broadcasters such as Sky Italia. Jordie's passion lies in using video documentary to address important social issues, and in pioneering new ways by which factual programming can bring about meaningful change in society. |
![]() | PhotographerFrancesca is a freelance photographer based in London. Her work has taken her across the globe, from Sicily to Thailand via India, and combines her twin passions: travel and people. She graduated as a 'master' of photography from Cfp R. Bauer in Milan and has since worked freelance for a number of respected international publications. Her photojournalism focuses on the social issues that are often neglected by mainstream media, whether it's the following the plight of North African economic refugees or documenting the struggle of Cape Verdean fishing communities to survive. |
![]() | Sound Recordist, Sound Designer and ComposerMirco Buonomo is a freelance sound engineer and musician, with focused work experience in broadcasting. From 2006 he worked for RAI Radio Televisione Italiana as sound engineer, dealing with music production, sound design and studio monitoring. He graduated in Sound Engineering and Recording at the Scuola di Alto Perfezionamento Musicale of Saluzzo and he completed a Bachelor's degree in Music and New Technologies at the Conservatory of Frosinone. His most recent work was in Cape Verde, as sound engineer and composer on Matchbox Media's documentary film Sandgrains. |
![]() | Underwater Cameraman/PhotographerAndrew Sutton was the underwater camera operator on Sandgrains. He has 20 years diving and filming experience around the world and has worked with numerous international organisations, including WDCS, WWF and BBC NHU. He has also worked with renowned author Philip Hoare to produce articles on cetaceans. For over 12 years, Drew has been principle videographer with the Rwandan Genocide NGO Survivors Fund UK and recently with a social orphanage in Granada, Nicaragua. He is the co-founder of Eco2 Diving & Marine Research in Tanzania, and NiceImages London & Madrid. |

They are living in Brazil since 2004 and are concerned with the world they will leave to their children. This is why they contribute to this type of documentary productions that awaken the conscience. They realise that in Cape Verde the embargo penalizes only the poorest people, who are thus more prone to exploitation. |
